Before emission controls, insulation was used only to protect surrounding parts from the intense heat of exhaust gas. Today, as catalysts and particulate filters rely on heat to effectively remove pollutant emissions, insulation is just as much about retaining heat.
Dinex offers a wide range of insulation solutions, but for direct replacement parts we use our traditional and OE-endursed Integral Insulation, consisting of an insulation glass-fibre mat wrapped around the part, protected by a welded layer of stainless steel foil.
For other applications, our universal range contains a number of additional solutions, such as a reflective or protective wraps.
When the future emission regulations comes into effect, regulators will expect to see reduced emissions even when the engine is still relatively cold. To achieve that, all heat loss must be prevented.
